Sélima became a professional player in 1999. In 2001, she reached the 2nd round of 3 of the 4 Grand Slams. She became the 1st professional female Arab player. In 2012, she will be the ambassador for Al Jazeera and will commentate on the London Olympic Games and present several programmes.
